25th Anniversary this year.
Male Voices Waikato celebrates 25 years of singing and entertaining in Hamilton and the Waikato region. Formed in 1995 by Anne Conolly-Munt to give men of all ages the chance of experiencing choral singing the choir has developed into a versatile group under Musical Director Sean Kelly and accompanist Angela Smith, singing a wide range of genre from musicals, spiritual, pop and classical.
The choir has sung with local choirs such as the Cantamus Womens Choir, The Cambridge Mosaic choir, and has travelled to Whitianga to sing in concert with the Mercury Bay Community Choir. It has travelled twice to New Plymouth to sing with the Taranaki Male Choir and in August 2019 joined the Whanganui Male Choir, Taranaki Male Choir and National Male Choir at a festival in New Plymouth. In July 2018 it hosted and sang in concert with the National Male Choir in Cambridge.
For many years the choir has sung in the Atrium at Waikato Hospital and has performed christmas songs at the Mayors musical performances in the Council chambers in Hamilton
Male Voices Waikato enjoys singing at rest homes and retirement villages.
The choir is unauditioned and welcomes enquiries from men of all ages.
